Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work

Course description

If your organisation's assessment of first aid needs highlights the need for qualified first aiders, then this course will equip registered first aid personnel with the knowledge and skills to handle a range of potentially emergency situations capably and professionally, remaining calm under pressure. The course consists of practical and theoretical activities; some pre-course activity could be required. You’ll cover a range of subjects including:

Responsibilities and reporting • Resuscitation • Burns • Assessment of the situation • Anatomy • Choking • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty • Minor injuries • Epilepsy • Basic hygiene in first aid • Bleeding control • Shock.

Qualification details

On satisfactory completion of the course and assessments, participants will achieve a Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work, valid for three years

Entry requirements

There are no special requirements to enrol; it is expected that participants will be taking an active role as a qualified first aider in the workplace.

Assessment details

You’ll be assessed during the day by the instructor and there will be a multiple choice test at the end of the course.

1 day.
